Ruth Jane Bergan, 87, gently passed away on September 9, 2020, due to complications of Alzheimer’s.
Ruth Jane was born to Oscar and Tena (Rogne) Kulsrud on August 11, 1933 in Austin, Minnesota. Ruth was commonly known as “Babe” since she was the youngest of 8 children. She graduated from LeRoy High School in 1951.
Ruth was united in marriage on December 27, 1952 to Raymond Bergan; to this union three children were born.
Ruth worked on the family farm in LeRoy.
She was known for always having coffee and cookies on hand and pulling pranks on nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She was an active member of the LeRoy Lutheran Church up until her failing health in recent years.
Ruth is survived by her children Brian (Peggy) of LeRoy, Jayne (JJ Sims) of Bloomington, MN, Jon (Deanna) of LeRoy; 4 grandchildren Jill and JR Sims, Miranda and Lindsay Bergan; sister Norma Armstrong; brother-in-law Lester Bergan and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Tena Kulsrud; husband Raymond; brothers Norman, Orville and Ozzie; sisters Lila, Violet and Doris.
Due to COVID-19, a private family funeral will be held. The family wishes any donations go to the Alzheimer Foundation in memory of Ruth.
