David Rodney Jackson, 69 of Star City passed away Friday at his home.

He was born November 22, 1950 in Montrose.

He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Rodney Jackson and his parents, James and Earline Bates Frost.

He was a retired logger, a member of the Glendale Church of Christ. Mr. Jackson had a strong Christian Faith, was an avid outdoorsman, loved gardening, and had a special passion for turkey hunting and loved his family beyond measure.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Richard Bolen Jr., brothers, Dewayne Jackson, J.E. Frost Jr. James Jackson, Jimmy Lee Frost and a sister, Medie Frances Lawson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rita Glover Jackson, they just celebrated their anniversary. June 17th.

His mother in law, Elline Glover Appling of Star City, five daughters, Shannon Wilson (David), Stephanie Jackson Manes, Stacy Atwood, Shelley Burr (Nick), Susan Hibbard (Jody) all of Star City. Three brothers, Andrew Jackson (Nancy) of Star City, Joe Frost (Lynn) of Monticello, Kenneth Frost (Judy) of Clinton and three sisters, Betty Stewart (Jerry), Mary Tucker, and Sissy Frost Sullivan all of Monticello.

Also survived by, ten grandchildren, Courtney Yurtich (Josh), Brandi Hayden (Bryson), Coty Bolen (Tayler), Taylor Pennington (Cody), Jackson Burr (Jenna), Courtney Burr, Jonathan David Hibbard, J.Grant Atwood, Jake Hibbard, Jared Hibbard and nine great grandchildren, McClain Hudgens, Bennett Hudgens, Laken Yuratich, Lane Bolen, Layla Pennington, Ashton Burr, Aiden Smith, Tynlee Pope, Abagail Nobles.

Graveside services are 11:00 A.M. Monday at Mt. Home Cemetery.

Grandsons will be Pallbearers and Granddaughters will be Honorary Pallbearers.

There will be no formal visitation.
