There is much conflicting information about Nellie Burley Kenyon. Although she was born in Richmond, Va., she lived and died in Richmond, Rhode Island. Her name has been shown as Burlingame, also Dawley, and her mother's name shown as Romtree.
This may be due to interpretation of handwriting on old records.

Henrico County (VA) Chancery Case 1908-054, Original Case 139, concerns land owned by Tilman Burley (father of William Tilman Burley) who died intestate. Settlement resulted in sale of the land. The money was divided among his living children and the children of his deceased children. Martha Ellen Burley is named as a deceased daughter of Tilman Burley who married Ramon Kenyon and died leaving her husband and one son, Abial Burley Kenyon, an infant under 14 years of age. She was actually the granddaughter of Tilman Burley.

Thanks to William E. Wright whose book "Ancestors and Descendants of William Browning Greene and Mary Hoxie Lewis with Allied Families," Page 263, which shows that Raymond Allen Kenyon married Nellie Burlingame, born in Richmond (R.I.), daughter of William T. and Elizabeth (Romtree) Burlingame.

With information from the Chancery case and the book, I was able to verify that Nellie Burley Kenyon was the sister of my great grandmother, Sarah/Sallie Burley Reid.

She was the daughter of William Tilman Burley and Elizabeth Ann Rountree Burley.

Born about 1866-67; shown as Martha, age 4 on 1870 census
Shown as Nellie, age 13 on 1880 census (believed to be same child).
Aug. 20, 1866 was found on the internet. I cannot confirm that it is neither correct, nor incorrect.
Married Raymond Allen Kenyon on July 2, 1887 in Hopkintown, Rhode Island.
They had a son, Abial Burley, born Feb. 12, 1895; died Nov. 3, 1972 in Boston, MA
He was adopted by his father's cousin George Brown and was known as
Abial Burley Brown. He is shown as Abial Burley Brown on Find-A-Grave.
