James “Donald” Knowles, 71, a resident of Webb, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2020, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Troy West officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Monday prior to service time.

Mr. Knowles was born June 22, 1949, in Eufaula, Alabama to Hubert and Jimmy Lou Renfroe Knowles and later moved to Dothan. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he came home to Dothan. As a master mechanic, he worked with the Mike Schmitz Automotive Group until his retirement. He loved fishing and playing pool. In earlier years he enjoyed racing motorcycles and he was a big racing fan.

Mr. Knowles is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by two daughters, Rachel Tyson (Steve Dixon) of Webb and MaKesha Knowles, of Dothan; three step-daughters, Jessie Smith (Michael), Kerri Quattlebaum, and Misty Mercer, all of Cottonwood; a brother, Terry Knowles (Nancy) of Cowarts; eleven grandchildren, Dawson Deacon, Jorgia Tyson, Austin Dixon, Free Hunter Kimbro, Dakota Kirkland, McKenzie Smith, Blake Smith, MyLeigh Smith, Jameson Smith, Journie Quattlebaum, Damion Quattlebaum, and Nevaeh Hicks; one great-grandchild, Alethea Kimbro; several special nieces and nephews.
