"Raymond J. Pruden, age 75, of Spring Hill, Florida, formerly of Corning, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. He was born on October 14, 1941 in Beaver Dams, the son of the late Arthur and Lillian (Parker) Pruden. He married Betty Gillette in November of 1961 and remarried her in July of 1987. Raymond was a great provider and loving family man. He worked for Corning Inc. before moving to Florida and later retired from Gaylord Container in Tampa, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Betty, son, Joseph Alan Pruden of Tampa, Florida, daughter, Cheril Pruden of Spring Hill, Florida, son, Robert Pruden of Spring Hill, Florida, step daughter, Vanessa (David) Reed of Spring Hill, Florida, sisters, Shirley Reed, Evalyn Pruden and Olive Reebek, grandchildren, David Smith, Michelle Pruden, Joseph A. Pruden, and David Reed Jr. and three great grandchildren. Raymond was predeceased by his brothers, Bill, Arthur, and Fred Pruden, and sisters, Betty Jane Bellows and Dorothy Ross. Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
