Shirley Jean (Pruden) Reed, born, Jan 12, 1931, and died, Nov 22, 2021; daughter of Lillian and Arthur Pruden.

Survived by sons, Roy, Stephen, David, and Norman, and their wives; children; grandchildren; and g-grandchildren; and sister, Evalyn Pruden of Spring Hill, FL.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Leroy; grandchildren, Joey Reed and William Barnard; and siblings, William (Bill), Fred, Raymond, Arthur, Olive (Polly), Betty Jane, and Dorothy.

She was married to LeRoy, Jul 3, 1950, until his death, Jul 7, 2014.

Shirley and LeRoy were cremated and rest in peace in an adjoining urn in Norman's residence.

She grew up in Post Creek, Beaver Dams. They moved to Myrtle Beach in 1989, followed by many offspring. Shirley was a proud Corning, Inc. retiree, receiving her 50 year pin in 2013. She was a strong-willed woman who loved her family. At the age of 90, she still drove a car in Myrtle Beach, SC, meeting family members at restaurants weekly.

For the Reed/Pruden family and friends: There will be a memorial picnic in her honor on Sat, Sep 10th from 12-4 pm at Harris Hill Park, Elmira, NY - Pavilion #1 (Across from restroom building). You are all invited. Please bring a dish to pass; drinks and meat will be provided. If you have memories to share, please write them down and bring them with you or share aloud at the picnic.
