Mildred M. Young, 89, 1408 N. Seminary St., died Saturday (Sept. 15, 2007) at Seminary Manor.

Mildred was born July 2, 1918, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of George and Elanora Moriarity Tuthill. She married Carl A. Sandburg. He preceded her in death. She then married Robert J. Young, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving Mildred are two daughters, Katherine (Bob) Blackburn of Galesburg and Karen (the late Paul) Moon of Franklin, Va.; two stepsons, Kenny Young of Florida and Brian (Jodie) Shover of Wisconsin; a stepdaughter, Sue (Chuck) Ross of Iowa; a brother, Lawrence Tuthill of Milan; and a sister Barbara Trulson of Galesburg. A daughter, B. Karlene Miller, preceded Mildred in death in 2007.

Mildred was a housewife. She was a past member of the Elkettes and Ladies of the Moose.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
