Elisa Franco Rose, 81, passed away on Saturday September 15th, 2007 at her residence in Midland under Hospice care. She was born on October 15, 1925 in Sierra Blanca, Texas to the late Antonio and Anita Franco. She met and later married George Ramirez Rose in August of 1941 in Sierra Blanca. She and George worked for over 30 years as restaurant owners. She was an active member of Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church and was affiliated with Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Elisa moved to Midland five years ago with son Nick and daughter-in-law Sylvia. She then became a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Her kind heart and thoughtfulness will always e remembered. She is preceded in death by her husband, George R. Rose who passed away in 1986; her parents; a sister Evangelina Franco and brother, Manuel Franco. Elisa is survived by her sons: Harold "Nick" and wife Sylvia Rose of Midland, George R. and wife Emma Rose of Midland and Gary Evans Rose of Sierra Blanca. Two brothers: Tony R. Franco and Pablo R. Franco of El Paso. Five sisters: Socorro F. Rojas and Genoveva F. Acosta of El Paso, Texas, Cruz F. Ayers of Las Cruces, NM, Josefina (Jo) F. Bennett of El Paso and Elva F. Navarrette of Palmdale, CA; one brother-in-law, Richard Rose of Sierra Blanca; two sister-in-laws: Lydia Ortega and Irma Gomez both of Sierra Blanca; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and extended families. Viewing will be from 1PM to 9 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church, Sierra Blanca, Texas. Rosary will be held the same date at 7:00 PM at the church. Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church with Fr. Gilberto Luna officiating. Interment will follow at Sierra Blanca Cemetery.
