Ruth Boyd was the first wife of Robert Howard Ober. She was born in 1890 in Ohio. Her father was Thomas M Boyd. Her mother was Minnie Gage who married Col Frank H Ray in 1906. Ruth and Jacques Jacob Bustanoby were married in 1907. Jacques was from France, and was a Restaurertuer. Jacques re-married in 1917 and Ruth and Robert Ober were married about that time. Robert listed Ruth Boyd on his Draft Card in 1917 as his wife. They lived in New York in 1917. That same year Robert and Ruth had a Passport with a plan to take a trip to Havana. Ruth Ober left Robert, and returned to be with her mother. She lived in Frank H Ray's household (The Plaza Hotel in Manhattan) beginning about 1920. At the same time Ruth's ex-husband, Robert, was in Massachusetts in 1920, where he re-married. Ruth also re-married, Roy C Burdin, an Architect, in 1925. By 1940, she reported that she was single. Her mother lived with her at that time. She reported that she was a high school graduate, and gave no occupation. In 1944, however, her husband Roy C Burdin unexpectedly died, and his obituary listed Ruth as his wife. Ruth Boyd Ober Burdin passed away in 1962, probably in New York. She was buried with her mother and Mr Ray at the Ray monument in a private cemetery in New York.
