"In August if that year (1867), the third loss came to John Chivington. His wife of 28 years , Martha Rollison, died at a camp meeting at Mount Pleasant, Nebraska in Cass County...).
From the Colorado Transcript (Golden, Jefferson County), September 4, 1867:
"-----Col. Chivington buried his wife on the 24th inst. She died on the Camp Meeting ground at Mount Pleasant, Nebraska, on the day before".
I have concluded from the above that Martha was buried in this cemetery where several other Chivington's have been interred. The mileage (on today's roads) between Nebraska City and Mount Pleasant is 26.8 miles. It would have been likely her body was brought back to Nebraska City.
