Verna LaVonne Wilson, 85 of Boyne City, Michigan died on October 25, 2020 at McLaren Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. The former Verna LaVonne Shepherd was born April 9, 1935 in Gaylord, Michigan. She was the daughter of Joseph Colvin and Nancy Jane (Lacy) Shepherd.
On March 4, 1954 in East Jordan, Michigan she married Robert Ace Wilson.
Verna loved spending time with family, cooking and gardening.
Verna is survived by her four children: Kristy (Pete) Soliz, Kevin Wilson, Kenneth (Angie) Wilson and Kaye Wilson; her grandchildren: Lucas McCarry, Joseph McCarry, Logan McCarry, Alyssa Thompson, Sean Wilson, Nick Detlaff, Jennifer Wilson, Bethany Fisher, Justin Wilson, Kelsey Wilson and her 11 great-grandchildren.
Verna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Ace; her son Kerry Robert; her daughter-in-law Lynda Lee; and her siblings: Marvin Shepherd, Charles Shepherd, Esther Shepherd, Lloyd Shepherd, Sarah Shepherd, Donald Shepherd, Velma Shepherd, Vernon Shepherd, Joseph Shepherd and James Shepherd.
A graveside service for Verna will be at the Maple Lawn Cemetery on October 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM and officiated by Pastor Jeff Ellis.
Arrangements are in the care of Stackus Funeral Home.
