Ronald D. and Linda Davidson WESTFIELD -On February 12, 2009 God's angels took into heaven our father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Ronald D. Davidson, age 66, and our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Linda Lee (Casler) Davidson age 61, both of Beckman Ave. They were among the passengers who perished on Flight 3407 in Clarence, N.Y. We as a family are dedicated to focus on how they lived and not how they died. Ron was born on September 11, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pa. , a son of the late Andrew and Dorothy (Dodds) Davidson. A Westfield resident most all his life, Ron was a graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School, he enlisted in the US Navy and served his country from 1966 until 1968 and attained the rank of E-4 Petty Officer 3rd class in the Medical Corps. He had been active with the Navy Reserves and the NY National Guard. Ron had been employed by the former Al Tech Specialty Steel Co. in Dunkirk for many years until it's closing. He most recently had been employed as a Care Giver at the Portland House of Aspire of WNY. Ron was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Westfield where he was very active in church activities. He volunteered for the Westfield Soup Kitchen at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. An accomplished wood worker, Ron enjoyed woodworking and remodeling his home. He and his wife, Linda, enjoyed camping and the outdoors, as well as caring for their yard and gardens, both floral and vegetable. An avid Florida State football fan he enjoyed all college football. Ron was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 118, of Westfield. Linda was born on September 6, 1947 in Westfield, N.Y., a daughter of the late Julian L. and Lyle V. (Parkhurst) Casler. She was raised in Mayville, but had lived in Westfield most all her adult life. She was employed by Westfield Memorial Hospital for many years as an LPN in almost all areas of Health Care, most recently in Cardiac Rehab. Linda enjoyed her job so much that she would often volunteer for extra duty to promote good health, encourage community health awareness and to set a good example for others. She enjoyed the outdoors and camping with her husband. Linda was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, where she was very active with the Episcopal Altar Guild, the St. Peter's booth at the Westfield Arts and Crafts show and numerous other church activities. She was always busy making things and enjoyed her arts and crafts. Her home and family were her life. She and her husband, Ron, took pride in their lawn and gardens, both floral and vegetable. Survivors include their children, Carrie C. Davidson of Los Angeles, Calif., SSGT Aaron (Janet) C. Davidson, USMC of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Andrew K. Davidson of Westfield. Their six grandchildren are Jacob, Nicholas and Allexandra Davidson all of Westfield, and Abigail, Nathan and Brett Davidson, all of Camp Lejeune, N.C. Ron is further survived by his sister: Sandra (Charlie) Ganey of Conn. and his brother, William Davidson of Westfield, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy (Dee Dee) Davidson. Linda is further survived by her three sisters, Jacqueline Brittain of Mayville, N.Y., Marilyn Bazan of Irvine, Calif., and Suzanne Rammelt of Westfield, N.Y.

Mrs. Davidson is a long-time nurse at Westfield Memorial Hospital in northern Chautauqua County.
