Shirley Ann (Foust) Bonnell, 85, of Winamac, IN, passed away at 11:23 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette, IN. She was born on October 18, 1935 in Star City, IN to the late Lorenza Jefferson and Golda Louise (Little) Foust. Shirley married Jay Lynn Bonnell on August 25, 1989 in Winamac. He passed away on December 13, 2013.
Shirley owned her own painting and wallpapering business for many years. She also worked as a parts manager for Shepherd’s, Knebel’s and Dobson’s car dealerships.
Shirley enjoyed riding her gator, spending time with her dog Maddie and family gatherings (especially the bonfires). Most of all, Shirley loved her friends and family dearly and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one step-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one great-grandson, Linken Jet Fornelli; and four half-siblings - Reuben Earl Hedger, Sylvia Marie Watts, Donald L. Hedger and Ernest Richard Hedger.
Public viewing will be from 12 noon to 1 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN. The family will not be present to visit with guests, however, they encourage friends to come say farewell to Shirley. Private family graveside services will be held at Winamac Cemetery (aka McKinley Memorial Gardens) in Winamac, IN with Eugene Berg officiating.
