Northville — The funeral for Johanna Milda Boekelheide, 105, of Northville will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Mansfield. The Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen, in charge of arrangements.
There will be a public prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Aberdeen.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home in Aberdeen, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church at rural Mansfield.
She died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
Johanna Milda Bierman was born Jan. 8, 1895, to William and Lena (Bittner) Bierman in Northville Township, Spink County. She attended country school and grew up in the area. She then attended sewing school in Aberdeen. At the age of 18 she staked a claim on a quarter of land in Ziebach County near
Isabel, close to the farm of her brother. She later moved back to Northville and worked in a millinery store, making hats.
She married Herman Boekelheide Nov. 19, 1919, in Aberdeen. They made their home on a farm northwest of Northville until moving into Northville in 1929. He died Jan. 5, 1987. She moved to the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen in February 1991, and resided there until her death.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Mansfield, taught Sunday school and was a member of the ladies' organizations of the church, the extension club and study club. She also served on the Northville school board for many years.
She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Dean (Delores) Boekelheide of Northville, and Arlyn (Anne) Boekelheide of Woodland Hills, Calif.; one daughter, Donna (John) Swanhorst of Aberdeen; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son in infancy, five brothers and two sisters.
Casket Bearers will be Greg Boekelheide, Mark Boekelheide, Kerry Boekelheide, Ryan Boekelheide, Curt Swanhorst and Mike Jeschke.
