Funeral services for Ulysses Sidney Grant Ragsdale, who died September 3 at the home of his son, Elias Ragsdale, Forsyth, were held at the home. Rev. Bob Grady had charge of the service. Interment was in the Ragsdale cemetery.
Ulysses Sidney Grant Ragsdale was born near Sparta, Mo., the son of Wesley and Ellen Ragsdale. He was 88 years, 11 months and 23 days of age.
He was united in marriage to Cubine McHaffie on February 21, 1884. To this union two sons and two daughters were born. His wife preceded him in death, September 8, 1936.
In 1948 he was united in marriage to Henrietta Byers, who survives him. Other survivors include two sons, Elias Ragsdale of Forsyth; Andy Ragsdale of Taneyville; two daughters, Mrs. Daisy Middleton of Forsyth and Mrs. Grace Norton(Morton) of Taneyville. 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and many other relatives also survive.
