She was the daughter of the late John Muldrew Blakeley and Kate Nelson Blakeley.
Julie grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School. She was also a graduate of Columbia College and received her Masters from Converse College. She taught at Coastal Carolina University and Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
She was a member of All Saints Church. Her smiling, beautiful presence and vivacious spirit will be so greatly missed by many. To know her was to love her!
Julie is survived by her four precious children, John Blakeley Thornton, Kenneth Clay Thornton, and Kate Nelson Thornton all of Mt. Pleasant, and Olivia Lee Charney and her husband Felix Thomas Charney of Weston, CT; a granddaughter, Caroline Legare Charney of Weston, CT; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Billy P. Woodbury of Georgetown; and Mr. and Mrs. Harris T. Blakeley of Andrews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Kent Thornton.
