Harry Emerson Folsom was born in 1858 while his parents, Moses E Folsom and Elizabeth J Warnock Folsom were living in Oregon City, Clackamas, Oregon. The family moved to Umatilla City, Umatilla, Oregon and lived there for several years before moving permanently to Pendleton, Umatilla, Oregon. Harry never married and remained Single his entire life working hard and helping his widowed mother. He moved to Southern California and had a successful Farm in Beaumont, Riverside, California. He was brought back to Pendleton for burial in the Folsom family plot. His Mother passed away a few months following Harry's death.

In 1881 with very little money to work with, but his credit was good as everybody knew him to be a steady hard working boy. He was for years employed in his Father's Blacksmith shop, opposite the court house in Pendleton and while other young men were spending their money, Harry was investing his in horses and land West of Pilot Rock. After years of good management and hard work he and his family got title to three Sections of land. Harry owned several hundred horses that he would breed and sell. In 1908 he sold his land for upwards to $40,000 and removed to Southern California. (East Oregonian March 21, 1908)

Former Pendletonian Builds
There are several homes in the process of construction in the eastern part of Beaumont at the present time. The Harry E Folsom home is nearing completion and will be ready for occupancy in about two weeks. The home is strictly modern and will be one of the attractions of Beaumont when finished. There are eight rooms, Five below and three above, all good size and comfortable. Mr. Folsom has built a large barn to accommodate his fine horses and recently set out ten acres of fruit trees. The house stands among the olive trees and the grounds will be beautified with plants and shrubs - Beaumont News

Beaumont, Aug 8 - Harry Folsom, for many years a leading rancher and citizen of Beaumont, died in Hollywood last Monday after a few days' illness, which was not considered serious. His mother and a sister, Mrs Kettle, are Beaumont residents.
