Patrick was the son of James P. Barton, Jr. who passed
away November 8, 2003; and Margaret T. (Handibode) Barton of Hyde Park. Patrick was a graduate of John Jay High School and Dutchess Community College. He worked
as a Guard at the Dutchess County Jail before entering the NYPD Academy in 1986. Prior to his retirement in 2004 he worked in several precincts in the South Bronx and received several citations. Patrick played hockey for John Jay and at the Mid Hudson Civic Center; he also fought in
the Golden Gloves, was a champion for the NYPD at the European Nationals in London; and was a Harley Davidson rider. In addition to his mother, Patrick is also survived by a son Conner P. Barton of New Rochelle; his former wife Carol Leito of New Rochelle, NY; two sisters Elizabeth Piggot of Marlboro, NY, and Maureen Barton,
and her husband Jim of Hyde Park; a brother James Barton, and his wife June of Scarsdale, NY; a nephew Bruce Piggot; two nieces, Leigh Barton and Emma Barton, a brother-in-law
