Irene Mae Carvell, 72, a retired sewing machine operator, suffered a fall at her home in Lititz. She died the next day at Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was the wife of the late George W. Carvell.
Born in Clay Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late John and Sally Weitzel.
Irene was raised by her grandmother.
She is survived by a son, George C., Bunker Hill, Lebanon County; and five daughters: Cleo M., wife of Bruce C. Frymyrer, Ephrata; Shirley Y., wife of Kenneth H. Umbenhauer, Ephrata; Arlene M., wife of Roger D. Garman, Sandra I., wife of Roger Connelly and Aundrey L., wife of Michael Karpew Jr.,ll of Lititz.
