Born in Atoka, Oklahoma, he was the son of Jack and Media Ann (Cox) Ainsworth. He graduated from Kiowa High School in 1965 and Murray State College in 1967 with an Associate Degree in Science. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Southeastern State College in May 1969. He married Linda S. Hallmark on Jan. 17, 1967 and had two daughters. After graduating from college in 1969, Gary entered the United States Army and reported to Fort Ord, California for training. He continued with his service with the U.S. Army Reserve, 95th Division, in Durant, OK until his honorable discharge in 1976 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Gary was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Blue Lodge in Calera, OK, where he had previously served as Worshipful Master, and was a member of the Elk's Lodge in Durant. Gary was an avid golfer, having played in numerous golf tournaments as a past member of the McAlester Country Club and a current member of the Oak Hills Country Club of Ada, OK, where he was serving as a member of the Board of Directors. His other sports love was the University of Oklahoma Sooners Football. Gary loved spending time with his family at their ranches in Chockie, OK and Pittsburg, OK, as well as searching for arrowheads. Gary never met a stranger and always brought out the best in those around him. He was a true entrepreneur, having been involved in the creation of a large number and wide variety of business activities. Gary will be greatly missed by his loving family, beloved employees, a multitude of close friends and numerous business associates. He died of complications of lung cancer in Ada, Oklahoma.
