Phillip Doyle Wilburn, Sr. son of the late Alfred Elmer Wilburn and Valrie Lillian (Carter) Wilburn was born September 6, 1951 in Houston, Texas and departed this life on November 11, 2020 at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 5 days. Phillip married Beverly Crisel December 3, 1970 in Iuka, Mississippi.

His wife: Beverly Wilburn of Kennett, Missouri

One Son: Phillip Wilburn (Monica Slyter) of Louisville, Kentucky

One Daughter: Shannon (David) Crepps of O'Fallon, Missouri

Two Brothers: Hubert R. (Kathy) Wilburn of Austin, Texas

Gary (Justin) Wilburn of Wappapello, Missouri

One sister: Jossie Ryans of Paragould, Arkansas

Five grandchildren: Matthew Wilburn, Reilly Wilburn, Austin Wilburn, Isaac Crepps and Lillian Crepps.

Phillip was preceded in death by his brothers; J.C., Joseph Glen and Alfred Dale Wilburn and sisters: Shirley Laden, Marie Bogart, Flossie Wilburn, Connie Simms and Linda Wilburn and grandchild Christen Wilburn.

Phil was well-known in Kennett for his work at the Post office and as an owner of Strain's Grocery and Restaurant. He was President of Semo Little Theater and worked on the Delta Children's Home Board. He was a proud member of the Hardee's Breakfast Club, and he also served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. He also leaves behind a host of other people who loved him dearly-sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and many, many close friends. Over the past 8 years, Phil and Beverly loved their life as winter Texans in Rockport, Texas. Mr. Wilburn was liked by everyone who knew him, was a hard worker, adoring father and husband and will be missed by all.

Phil met Beverly on February 7, 1969 and they enjoyed over 50 years together. Their love and dedication to each other is an example for all of us.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
