Joseph R. Vencel was born on August 4th, 1928 to Michael and Julia Adams Vencel. He passed away on November 24th, 2019 at the age of 91 in Lafayette, Colorado. Joseph was born in Terre Haute, Indiana and raised on the family farm near Prairieton, Indiana. He graduated from Prairie Creek High School in Prairie Creek, Indiana in 1946. Joseph served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant First Class. He was honorably discharged in 1952. While still living in Indiana, he met and fell in love with Faye Little. He moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1957 where he began working for Ideal Feed and Supply. Faye soon followed and they were married October 27th, 1957. They had three children, Brian, Kristi, and Steven. Joseph eventually left Ideal Feed and Supply and began working as a machinist for Ball Aerospace Corporation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, and golfing. He was also a valued member of the American Legion of Boulder.

Preceding Joseph in death are his parents, Michael and Julia; beloved son, Steven; brothers Michael (Edna), John (Reva), Frank (Mildred), and Steve (Ann); and sisters, Helen Lewis and Elizabeth Button. Joseph is survived by his loving wife Faye, son Brian (Kris), daughter Kristi (David) Cooper-Camp, brother Don (Annette), sister Ethel Ann Montague , grandchildren, Shawn Vencel of Boulder, and Justin (Natalie) Cooper of Lafayette; and great grandchildren, Jack Cooper, Calliana Cooper, Paxton Cooper, Hudson Cooper, and Paisley Vencel.
