ANDERSON--Former Muncie resident Robert Rowe, 46, minister at Second Baptist Church, died Monday in Community Hospital after a long illness.
Rev. Rowe was born in Muncie and graduated from Central High School in 1968, when he was an all-state football player. He received the Juliard Conservatory School of Music Scholarship.
He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago and attended Moody Bible College, Crossroads Bible College and American Bible Institute.
He also was a probation officer in Delaware County, and he was a former assistant pastor at Antioch Baptist Church, Muncie.
He was a member of Madison County Ministerial Alliance; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and he was dean of religious education for the northeastern district.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Gudger Rowe; a son, Trent L. Rowe (wife: Candy); two daughters, LaKisha Rowe and Kellee Rowe; his mother, Phyllis Rowe; three brothers, Joseph, Ralph, and Gary Rowe; and three sisters, Garetta Morrow, Mary Wolfe, and Priscilla Gudger.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie. Calling will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Second Baptist Church, Anderson. Brooks Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
