KENNETH BESS 85, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Tuesday March 6, 2007 at Community Hospital, Springfield, Ohio after a lengthy illness. He was born May 12, 1921 in Jefferson County, Ohio the son of the late Benjamin & Bertha (Krinke) Bess. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Vandalia. He was a retired Minister in Ohio and Indiana. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris Bess; two sons, David Bess of Springfield, Mark (Machele) Bess of Owenton, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Benjamin & Rebekah Bess; a sister, Ruth (Louis) Marzley of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Bess; two brothers, Dale and Bill Bess. A gathering of family and friends will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday March 9, 2007 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor's Charles Jackson and Michael Frangipane officiating. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Vandalia, the American Heart Assoc. or the American Lung Assoc.
