Agnes Shipp Wilson was the youngest of seven children born to John and Wearder Shipp, Sr. She lived in Gary, Indiana during her childhood and moved to Memphis, Tennessee in her early adult years. She married Joe Willie Wilson on September 17, 1955. To this union three boys and one girl were born.
