Mr. Scott was born in Lexington, Oklahoma, on July 2, 1907, the son of William T. and Sarah Elizabeth Jonson Scott. A carpenter, he was employed by Phelps Dodge Corporation in Ajo for 37 years, retiring in 1970. After retiring, he returned to the town of his birth, living there from 1970 to 1985 when he moved to Roosevelt Resort in Globe, Arizona. While in Ajo, he was a member of Elks Lodge 1576, the carpenters union, and attended the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Mildred Scott; by his daughters, Sarah Jane Estes of Roosevelt and Tommie Sue Vaughn of Phoenix; by his brother, Ben Scott of California; by his sisters, Laura Belle Tolbert of California and Laura May Peery of Oklahoma; and by three grandchildren and one great¬grandchild.
