Susan Applegate Blaine, 67, died unexpectedly, on Nov. 3, 2020. She was born March 18, 1953, in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of Charles Henry Applegate, III and Marjorie Des Autels. Susan grew up in Clearwater and Largo, Florida.

Susan graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in social work. She married Dennis Blaine; they had one daughter, Sarah, and made a home in Delta, Colorado. She retired from the Delta County Department of Health and Human Services in 2018 from a 28-year career as Child Protective Services Administrator.

Susan is survived by daughter, Sarah Blaine Taff; and her husband, Saige, of Parker; grandson, Gray; ex-husband, Dennis Blaine, of Delta; and many good friends. Her parents preceded her in death.

Susan was loved by so many; she remembered and accepted everyone she met, and she had a way of making everyone feel important and special. She loved animals, murder mysteries, conversation, dining with good friends and family, sipping good wine, shopping for beautiful things and spending time with her daughter and grandson. She left so many of us with so much of her, and we are grateful for the impact.
