Oceanus Hopkins did not die at sea on the Mayflower voyage. He died at age 1 at Plymouth. He was born onboard the Mayflower and that is why his name. His mother was Elizabeth Hopkins (Fisher) His father was Stephen Hopkins.
In fact, he died the first winter of the colony in Plymouth. That would make it the winter of 1620 I assume, so Oceanus would have been less then 1 year of age. His sister Damaris Hopkins also died that same winter. Not to be confused with the second Damaris of 1628-1669. There were a number of deaths that winder due to disease and poor living condition in a terrible winter. Source- "Caleb Johnson" Author "Here Shall I Die Ashore"
