Morton Allen, of near Azalia, was fatally cut by a binder at noon Friday. He was driving a horse in front of the machine when the animal became frightened and threw him directly in front of the knives. Before the horses could be checked the blades had reached the boy and an arm and leg were completely severed from his body.

The bleeding body was tenderly picked up and carried to the home of his widowed mother, almost a mile away. Dr. A. E. DeLong was called and everything that could be done to save his life was attempted. He continued to sink rapidly and at 3:10 o'clock in the afternoon he died.

He was the son of the late George Allen. He was only fifteen years of age. There is no explanation for the fright of the horses. His home is mile southeast of Azalia.
