Doris Clements age 74, of Bradenton, FL, died on Thursday, August 15, 2002 in Portland, OR. Mrs. Clements was born May 27, 1928 in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of the late Abram and Alice (Meyer) Peterson. She married Jay A. Clements on Sept. 23, 1950 in Bronx, NY. She was a graduate of Walton High School in Bronx and later attended Secretarial School. Before moving to FL Mr and Mrs. Clements lived in Carmel, NY for several years. She was the Executive Secretary for the sales manager at Lederle Labs in NY, NY. Mrs. Clements was a member of the Manatee River Garden Club in Bradenton, she had served on the Board of Elections in FL, District 25. She was a Girl Scout Leader in NY for 14 years. Doris was the Queen of the Mt. Vernon Triangle, Order of the Eastern Star, and was instrumental in the establishment of the Kent Library. Besides her husband Mrs. Clements is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Miller and husband David of Lindenhurst, IL. Carol Bergeron and husband Philip of Bradenton, FL. She has five grandchildren, Barbara Simpson, Lynda Miller, Leslie, Diana and Aimee Bergeron. Doris also has two great grandchildren, Keely A. Miller and Hannah L. Simpson. She was pre-deceased by her son Mark J. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 1pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carmel, NY. Interment will be in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9pm. Contributions in her memory may be made to your local Masonic organization or the American Diabetes Association, Gift Processing Center, 149 Madison Avenue, NY, NY 10016.
