Major League Baseball Player. He played Major League baseball as a pitcher for 10 seasons (1897 to 1906) with the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Browns and the Washington Senators. Just 5'7", he was known as "Wee Willie", and created controversy when he left the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team for the St. Louis Browns in 1902. He became the one of the first to play for both St. Louis franchises. A right-handed pitcher, his best year was in 1903, when he had a pitching record of 21 wins and 15 loses with an Earned Run Average of 2.27.
