George ALCOCK, Thomas LAMB, Richard PALGRAVE came over in the fleet with Winthrop from Stepney, Middlesex County in 1630 ten years after the Pilgrims, bringing with him his wife and his daughters, Mary and Sarah. Winthrop Fleet passengers were motivated to make their move by their need to "practice their religion free from the persecution of the Crown-Church of England." About one-third perished during or soon after their voyage.
George Alcock's son, John, married Richard Palgrave's daughter, Sarah; Thomas Lambe's son Joshua married their daughter, Mary Alcock.

"In the Roxbury Church Records, under date of November 27, 1665. Mr. Danforth, the minister writes:
'Mrs Sarah Alcock dyed, a vertuous woman... Two years later, March 27, 1667, it is recorded in the same book that 'Mr John Alcock, Physican, dyed. His liver dryed up and become schirrous.' Possibly an atopsy was made in this case."
