Pioneer Succumbs After Illness of Four Days Duration
Abraham Walker, 88, died at his home, 512 East D street, this morning at 2:30 o'clock.
He was born in Middleborough, Yorkshire, England & came to Iron Mountain in 1882.
He was employed with the Chapin iron ore mine.
He married twice, his first wife dying 20 years ago. His second wife, Susan, survives along with 2 daughters, Mrs. John T. Spencer & Mrs. Fred Mitchell. His son, Thomas, lives in Australia. (Tuesday, March 20, 1923, Iron Mountain Press newspaper, Dickinson, Michigan.)
