Marnell Adams Ables, age 87, of Jamestown, OH passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born September 21, 1933 in Mayking, KY, one of 13 children born to Lula (Sparks) and Gordon Adams. In addition to her parents, Marnell was preceded in death by siblings: James R. Adams, Geneva Polly; Genetta Hogg, Mona Ables, Bill Adams, Gordon Adams Jr., Tommy Adams, Sherry Branham and Wilma Adams.
She is survived by her loving husband: Jack Ables, whom she married July 2, 1955; her daughter: Paula Ashley; granddaughter: Erica Ashley Russell (Ernest) and great-grandson: Douglas Jackson Russell; and 3 sisters: Mary Stanley; Freeda Mason and Nancy Keathley; as well as many nieces and nephews. Marnell graduated from Whitesburg High School in Kentucky and Central State University. She had been an elementary school teacher for 32 years with the Beavercreek School System, before working in Child Development for 27 years with Four Oaks Schools. She retired at age 80, with almost 60 years working professionally in child education. She was a member of the Dayton Ave. Baptist Church for over 60 years. She loved spending time with her family and adored the children
