Catherine A. "Cathy" (Sabol) Emery, 67 of Girard, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
She was born in Erie, Pa. on March 28, 1953, a daughter of the late Albert J. Sabol Sr. and Edna Mae (Carlotti) Sabol.
She graduated from Villa Maria High School in 1971 and later attended Gannon University, then she received her B.S. degree in Physical Education and Health from Slippery Rock University. Cathy also received her R.N. degree from Kent State and worked at Pleasant Ridge Manor for many years as a head nurse/supervisor.
She attended St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Girard. Cathy also helped the Tri-Boro Little Gridders Association at the hot dog stand every Sunday during their football season and was the assistant coach with the Fairview Tigers Swim Team for three years.
She is survived by her brother, Albert J. "Bert" Sabol Jr. of Girard, sister, Christine Polka also of Girard, sister-in-law, Debbie Sabol of Lake City, nephew, Charles Polka, nieces, Jennifer Sabol and Natasha Sabol and many cousins.
In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her brother, Carl A. Sabol.
Services will be held privately by the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main Street, East, Girard, Pa.
Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Girard.
