It is unlikely Elizabeth Stoughton was the Elizabeth who married John Kinsley. Elizabeth (nee Knight) Stoughton was a covenant signer alongside her husband Israel Stoughton as part of the reestablishing of the First Church of Dorchester Aug 1836; John and Elizabeth Kinsley were listed as well (Records of the First Church at Dorchester, 1636-1734. George Mellis, Boston: 1891. pgs 29-30.) Israel and Elizabeth emigrated in 1632. Israel Stoughton's will was dated 17 Jul 1644 in Dorchester and he refers to his wife (Abstracts of the Earliest Wills Upon Record in the County of Suffolk, Massachusetts. Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., Baltimore: 1984. pg. 33.) Per Anderson's Great Migration Begins, Elizabeth Stoughton, wife of Israel, died 6 Aug 1681, none of Israel's daughters were named Elizabeth and, of his possible sisters, no Elizabeth has been identified.

It is probable that the Elizabeth who was married to John Kinsley married him in England and, thus, emigrated with him, though this is unproven as well.
