Nettie Pattillo Jones
October 6, 1930 - December 19, 2020
Columbus, Georgia - Nettie Pattillo Jones, 90, of Columbus died Saturday, December 19, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.
A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Parkhill Cemetery with the Reverend John Fugh, Jr. officiating.
Mrs. Jones was born in Columbus on October 6, 1930, daughter of the late Robert F. Pattillo and Edna Bryant Pattillo. She lived in Columbus most of her life, with brief stays in various military towns with her late husband, Earl Jones. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Nettie looked forward to any opportunity to be outside on a sunny day. Whether it was playing with her grandchildren in her pool, or going on beach trips with her beloved husband Earl, Nettie loved spending time in the sun.
Nettie lived a life rich with family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was quick to tell any new acquaintance about her family. One of her favorite sayings was "Every day is Mother's Day", and there is no doubt she truly believed this.
Nettie is survived by her four children, Phillip Jones (Myla) of Roanoke, VA; Matt Jones (Cindy) of Columbus, GA; Murray Jones (Sharon) of Columbus, GA; and Maribeth Lane (Bob) of Clinton, MS; and her brother Edward Pattillo (Margie) of Columbus, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan Jones (Abby); Martin Jones (Ashley); Madison Jones; Rowdy Lane (Lindsay); Sawyer Lane; Caitlyn Love (Bruce); and Spencer Newman (Grant); and three great-grandchildren Miles Jones, Eli Lane; and Saylor Claire Lane.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 5156 River Road, Suite M, Columbus, GA 31904; or to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2101 Wildwood Avenue, Columbus, GA 31906.
