Weldon Ellis Linkous, 83, of Bassett, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. Weldon was born in Blacksburg, VA on October 21, 1932 to the late Edgar David Linkous and the late Winnie Billie Linkous. He was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Ellis Linkous; four brothers, Elmer Linkous, Clifford Linkous, Colburn Linkous and Albert “Bud” Linkous.
Weldon is survived by his wife, Marjorie R. Linkous; son, Henry David Linkous; five step children, Robert Cassell, Kenny Cassell, Marian Arbogast, Ronnie Cassell, and Karla Barker; twelve grandchildren; and three sisters, Frances Cupp, Nellie Overstreet and Shirley Howard.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2016 for 12 pm to 1 pm in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Pastor Sidney Turner officiating. All other services are private.
