Died peacefully at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Sarnia on Thursday, May 14, 2020. Elisabeth (Liz) has been called home in her 87th year. She will be deeply missed by her children Mary Lane, Judy (Dan) Rowland, and Lisa Hassenstein; and her grandchildren Ryan Lane, Travis Lane, Michelle Lane, Ashley Rowland, David Rowland, Kayla Hassenstein, and Stephen Hassenstein. She is survived by her sisters Hendrina (the late Cor) Vandermuren, Mary (Rinus) Lips, Nellie (the late John) Willemse and her brothers Pete Derikx, Joe (Therese and the late Bernice) Derikx, Harrie (Pierette) Derikx, Albert (Margie) Derikx, John (Celina) Derikx, her sister-in-law Georgette (the late Gerard) Derikx, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Emile (2018) sister Alda Derikx (1941) and her parents John (1976) and Maria (1999) Derikx. Her big friendly smile and warm hugs will be greatly missed. We are comforted to know she has joined our dad in heaven where they can once again be together. A private service will be held at Hillsdale Cemetery. A public service will be held when it is safe to do so. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Alzheimers Society (alzheimer.ca/en/sarnialambton) or the C.E.E.
