Old Edgar Teacher
Dies in California
Dr Marion Thrasher, for over 35 years a practicing physician in San Francisco, died yesterday in the home of friends at Palo Alto after an illness of many months. He was born in Indiana in 1842, and in 1882 moved to San Francisco, where in 1890 he graduated from the medical school of the University of California. He had written numerous articles and several books on medical subjects. He is best known for his book "Longevity in California." He leaves a widow at the family home, 535 Forty-fifth avenue (sic), and a brother, Dr A. E. Thrasher of Cincinnati.
The above clipping is from the April 5th issue of the San Francisco Chronical. Many of the older residents of Edgar will remember Dr Thrasher as he was at one time Superintendent of the Edgar Schools
