Orphaned at two weeks old, Tiger found his forever home, eyes still not opened, with Georgie Ann Waddell.
The following 16 years, they were best of friends, never loosing sight of eachother.
Sometimes a loner with the other cats he was exclusively my best friend. From the time he learned he could climb he would skirt up my pant leg and sit on my shoulder to view life from above.
When he got too big to sit on my shoulder, he took to anchoring himself around my neck, feet dangling.
Come Christmas time he was a pro at climbing the tree and batting off the ornaments. He and Tuffy tore the ribbons and paper off gifts but I didn't mind. It was pure joy to see them play.
He especially liked chasing my electric train around its tracks and would catch hoops around his neck when I'd toss them his way.
When I sewed he would be crowded against the vibration of my sewing machine and loved to play and nap in the scraps.
He was ever so patient when I gave him his insulin twice a day and when he got cold he would pat my face ever so gently to wake me then nudge himself under the covers until we were both toasty warm.
He would wait for me to clean out his potty box then immediately fill it for me.
Losing his eye sight in his left eye never stopped him and his activities. Tiger's purr was full of love and dedication, never once did I turn him away from wanting to investigate what I was doing. He was great at pulling on my ribbons while I worked with them.
Tiger was a true friend and companion in my life and came to me a few months after the love of my life passed away.
(ANDY RODGERS, THE MIDNIGHT COWBOY)
It is not known who Tiger's parents were as he was found wet, meowing under a car in the pouring rain when a neighbor brought him to me. He slept with me every night. To get his feedings around the clock, I tailored my life around his needs.
Tiger will be missed greatly. He is now free of pain, has his sight back and by now enjoying the sunshine on the other side of Rainbow Bridge in Heaven.
I LOVE YOU, TIGGY POOH.
