William Fred "Buck" Jones, Sr.
May 29, 1933 - January 5, 2021

Macon, Georgia - William Fred Jones, 87, was a life-long resident of Macon, GA. He passed peacefully from this world surrounded by his wife and children. "Buck Jones" as he was known, now walks the streets of heaven with our eternal Father.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Johnson, Dr. William Richard Kremer, and Rev. Bruce Noland officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Masonic Children's Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon GA 31211 or Wreaths Across America, P.O. Box 249, Columbia Falls, ME 04623.

He graduated from Lanier High School in Macon and went on to obtain a business degree at Middle Ga College.

Buck served four years in the U.S. Air Force and Naval Reserves from 1953-1957, part of which he spent stationed in Thule, Greenland. He often reminisced about these experiences and antics to his grandchildren.

He retired from J.M. Huber Corporation (KaMin) where he worked in the mining division and purchasing for over 30 years. He was well known in the company for his tenacity and talent for negotiating.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Claude Jones, mother Elsie Jones.

He is survived in death by his spouse Faith, children Melanie (Bill) Wheeler, William Jones Jr., Crystal Jones Johstono, grandchildren Melissa Wood, Christopher Wood, Jonathan Jones, Casey Jones, Taylor Jones, Noah Jones, Hannah Grubbs (John), and Nicholas Johstono.

His devotion to his family and love for the Lord would radiate to others. His life was his witness. He was a member of the Ann Young Sunday School at Vineville Baptist Church. He served many years as an ordained Deacon, Men's Brotherhood and Building & Grounds committee and of his church. He was a Freemason and had recently received his 50 year certificate and pin in December 2020.
