Other Children Lucy Chamberlain born 1860 Wisconsin

The subject of this sketch was a native of eastern middle states and was born July 25, 1811 and departed this life at his home in Darlington July 2, 1898. Oct. 3d, 1830 he was united in marriage to Mary Bonnell. Six children were born to them, only two of whom survive, John W. of Baraboo and Benjamin H. photographer of Shullsburg. In 1871, April 20, his wife died, and was interred in the Union Grove cemetery.
On July 17th, 1889 he was married to Mrs. Moses H. Smith who survives him.
Lewis Chamberlain was one of nature's noblemen. It was such as he that Burns referred to when he said " An honest man is the noblest work of God."
The funeral was held Sunday form the family residence on Galena street, the remains being laid to rest beside the first wife in the Union Grove Cemetery. The aged wife and sorrowing family have the sympathy of all.
