Rose, a farm girl at heart, had a wonderful sense of hope and faith in people that she brought to every endeavor. She earned a BA in Community Organizing at the University of Minnesota (UofM), while also working for University Without Walls by assisting prison inmates through Project de Novo. She later completed an MBA and ran her own marketing consultancy. Rose was a manager for Brass Tacks Theater and held several administrative positions at the UofM in the Departments of Educational Psychology, Aerospace Engineering, and the School of Public Health.
Rose was involved with many community organizations during the 28 years she lived in the charming St. Paul neighborhood of Saint Anthony Park(SAP). Rose served on the board of the Library Association, the SAP Community Council, as treasurer of the SAP Garden Club, helped start and coordinate the monthly SAP Community Sing, and assisted the preschool program at the SAP United Church of Christ. She also participated in a neighborhood book club where she enjoyed many years of friendship.
Rose was intelligent, creative, and had an expansive imagination that fueled her interest in nature, music, art, and writing. She passed along her love of gardening to her daughter Elise. Her fondness of camping and nature was shared with her children through trips to state parks, the North Shore, and BWCA. She enjoyed traveling throughout the US and abroad, to England, France, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Morocco, and India. She was not one to step down from a challenge, having built a house overlooking the Yellowstone River in Montana and recently entering her first poetry contest, where she took third place.
Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to this amazing person, but that is only because of the love, joy, and memories Rose has given us. May she rest in peace.
