A funeral Mass will be held for Donald Edward Gregoire at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester with the Revs. Bruce Peterson and Peter Njoku co-officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites by the Bellechester American Legion. Mr. Gregoire, 77, of Goodhue, a longtime area farmer, died Sunday (March 21, 1999) at Seminary Home in Red Wing. Born Aug. 20, 1921, he graduated from the Minnesota School of Business and served in the Navy during World War II. He lived on the family farm near Bellechester most of his life and was active in farming for 40 years. On Sept. 16, 1947, he married Elizabeth Cecil Haas at St. Columbkill's Catholic Church in Belle Creek. Mr. Gregoire was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2751 and was a grand knight, a member of the American Legion Post 598 and the Bellechester Creamery Board, and a trustee of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Bruce of Washington, D.C., Michael of Carey, Ill., Kevin of Chino Valley, Ariz., Neil of Harrisburg, Pa., and David of Cincinnati, Ohio; six daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Dan) Freking of Edina, Minn., Jeanine (Mrs. Jack) Laffe of Minneapolis, Rose (Mrs. Bob) DelMas of St. Paul, Marie (Mrs. Tom) Burch of Murdock, Neb., Barb Gregoire of Zumbrota and Nancy (Mrs. John) Hastings of Sand Point, Idaho; 18 grandchildren; and two sisters, Dolores Gregoire and Eileen Holzman, both of Red Wing.
