James Walter Tinney* was born on December 30, 1929*, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. His father, James, was 47 and his mother, Hattie, was 37 when he was born. He was married several times, the first time in 1950 to Mabel Eaves. They had two sons, Timothy Joel and Terrance Justin. They divorced in 1959. In 1960 he married Glenda Carol Boevers and had 3 children, Tammy Janelle, Thomas John and Tracy Janine. He died on April 22, 1991, in Rainbow, Texas, at the age of 61, from emphysema and underlying heart conditions.
James was in the military and later worked in the Civil Service at Ft. Huachuca, Az. He was an avid fisherman and competed in tournaments. He also wrote country music.

*James was actually named Walter Francis when he was born. He later changed his name to James Walter to match his father's name. This was not a legal name change through the courts. He simply started using James Walter. He was also actually born December 30th, 1930. He wanted to enter the military but was too young. So he lied about his age and signed up. All of his adult documents show the fabricated date of birth. When compared against his parents' marriage certificate it appears his mother was pregnant at the time she married his father, she wasn't. He is also not listed on the 1930's Census with his parents, which he would have been had he been born in 1929. However, he is on the 1940's Census as 10 years old, not 11, which would have been the case had he been born in 1929.
