Nelson Howard Bethune was born on May 27, 1938 in Pensacola, Florida to Augustus Bethune and Margaret Bethune. Nelson grew up in Pensacola, Florida where his parents owned and operated a local bar. Nelson Howard Bethune graduated from Tate High School and attended Pensacola Junior College.

Mr. Bethune married Anna Lou Brewster on March 29, 1961 in Pensacola, Florida at the age of 22. The couple took a Gulf Coast honeymoon and Mr. Bethune returned to work for Armstrong Cork Company.

Nelson Howard Bethune was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Korea for 2 years. Mr Bethune returned from service with the Army to his wife Anna Lou Bethune and continued to work for Armstrong Cork Company where he retired after several years of employment. Nelson Howard Bethune also ran and retired from his Real Estate business, Bethune Realty in Pensacola, Florida. Nelson enjoyed fishing, boating, water sports and traveling with his wife. Mr. Bethune could water ski and wake board, to watch him on a wake board was nothing short of amazing. He and his wife taught their Niece and nephews as well as friends all about water sports, fishing, boating and about hard work, dedication and life.

Mr. Bethune and his wife also liked to travel the world as well as the United States. He enjoyed taking family and friends to different areas of the US and show them the sites. Nelson enjoyed spending time with his Grand Nephew and Grand Nieces and traveling with them and teaching them everything about the area. Nelson Howard and his wife built their dream home on Perdido Bay in Lillian, Alabama. There was nothing more important to Mr. Bethune than his family and friends.

Nelson Howard Bethune passed away on January 31, 2021.
Nelson was 82 years of age and left a lifetime of hard work and real world experiences on his passing.
Mr Bethune was laid to rest at Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola, Florida.
