Ona was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on Tuesday, August 2nd, 1927, daughter of the late Rev. John Henderson "Johnnie" Foster and Dina Morrow Foster. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, drawing and coloring. She also enjoyed canning and picking black berries, but most of all cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Ona was survived by her children, Ignacio Cruse Trimble, special daughter, Kathy (and Ricky) Gibson, and son, Richard Burton; seventeen grandchildren, Lorie Burton, Ona Sears, Willie (and Annesia) Burton, Waylon (and Keisha) Burton, Waylon Dale (and Tonya) Burton, Paula Burton, Harley Burton, Zoe Slaughter, Ignacio Brasfield, Johny Dale Brasfield, Roxann Brasfield, Savina Barbazote, Mark Barbazote, Toney Randell, Summer Correll, Jessica (and Brandon) Smiley, and Jonah (and Hollie) Pack; a special daughter-in-law, Karen Calhoun; thirty-four great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
Ona was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Johnnie Henderson Foster, who departed this life on December 9th, 1962 and Dina Foster, who departed this life on April 6th, 1989; her loving husband, Charles Wayne Burton, who departed this life on April 17th, 1999; one step-son, Charles Matthew Burton, who departed this life on September 21st, 2007; two sons, Paul Trimble, who departed this life on April 28th, 1982 and William Waylon Burton, who departed this life on September 8th, 2020; one daughter, Dina Barbzote; three brothers, Vestle Foster, Estle Foster, and Jewell Foster; one daughter-in-law, Judy Coffee; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Coffee, Joe Coffee, and Michael Burton; one great-grandchild, Asheron Hawkins; and one great-great-great grandchild, Clayton Noel.
Visitations were held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4th, 2021 at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4th, 2021 in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Ridner officiating.
