Susan Scanlon Dedman, 69, of New Albany, Indiana passed away February 3, 2021 at her home. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 10, 1951, daughter of the late Thomas E. and Alleen W. Scanlon and birth mother, Doris Jean Milan, married to John David Dedman on November 9, 2010.
She was raised in New Albany, Indiana and graduated from New Albany High School in 1970.
Preceded in death by her husband, John D Dedman; her parents Thomas and Alleen Scanlon; a son, Drew Thomas Miller; two brothers, Terry Elder, Jesse Elder, sister,Sandra Kay Elder and birth mother, Doris Jean Milan.
Survivors include her daughter, Carrie E Dunham (Tony) of Reidsville, North Carolina; two brothers, Timothy Elder of Elizabeth, Indiana and Billy Elder of Clarksville, Indiana: two granddaughters, Elizabeth Sparks (John) and MaKayla Ritchey; a grandson, Cody Ritchey and great-grandson, Charles Sparks as well as many nieces and nephews and her beloved companion and dog, Baby Girl. Susan was also very blessed to have her dear friends, Shelly Farney, Debbie Freiberger, Beverly Timberlake and Elaine Gilstrap and so many others.
