In 1986 she married Arnold DiGiacomo, and they had one daughter before they divorced. She married her best friend, William "Whitey" Satkowski, on August 14, 1982 at Puritan Congregational Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Prior to retirement, Karen was employed by Leslie Fay. Karen and her husband enjoyed camping in their RV, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
